Pandora’s Playhouse: Building a Home for Artistic Expression in Rushville, IL

 Dear Donor,

  I am writing to share an exciting opportunity to support the vibrant arts community in Rushville, Illinois. As a valued member of our community and a supporter of the arts, we believe you would be interested in helping Pandora’s Playhouse, the local community theatre group, find a place to call home. We have seen a building that we are interested in.

Pandora’s Playhouse has been enriching our community since 1975. By providing a platform for local talent to showcase their creativity and passion. From gripping dramas to heartwarming musicals, our productions have captivated audiences and brought people together.

  Pandora’s Playhouse faces challenges in securing a permanent space. Currently, we lack a building to store our equipment and props, host fundraising events, hold board meetings, and provide a space for our dedicated volunteers to gather and create. Without a dedicated space, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain the high level of artistic excellence that Rushville residents have come to expect.

 Here’s where you can make a difference. Through your support, we can help Pandora’s Playhouse secure a building that will serve our community. With a permanent space, Pandora’s Playhouse can continue to foster creativity, provide educational opportunities, and bring the magic of live theatre to the lives of individuals of all ages. Your contribution will directly impact the growth and sustainability of this beloved community institution.  Your generosity will help us:

Provide a secure storage facility for costumes, props, and equipment, and be able to have and keep an inventory.

Provide a dedicated space for teaching various aspects of theater, from acting to set design and more. It would allow you to create a comprehensive curriculum and offer practical hands-on training in all aspects of theater production.

Establish a dedicated space for our Board of Directors to meet and make informed decisions regarding the future of Pandora’s Playhouse.

Having a dedicated space for each discipline would also make it easier to provide specialized equipment and resources. For example, a fully equipped room with lighting and sound equipment would allow students to learn about stage lighting and sound engineering in a practical setting. Similarly, having dedicated rehearsal spaces, costume and prop shops, and design studios would provide students with the necessary tools to explore their creativity and refine their skills. This would give students the chance to showcase their talent and productions to the public, thereby gaining valuable performance experience. It could also serve the local theater community by hosting workshops, auditions, and collaborations with other theater groups. Overall, having our own building for teaching theater would provide a dedicated and well-equipped space for learning and practicing. It would enhance the quality of education and open up opportunities for students to immerse themselves in the world of theater.

We will still be having plays at the Phoenix Opera House. Using their building has been good and we wish to keep the standing with this group.
